Event ID not found

Why does MS have so few events that it can directly account for from Event Viewer????!!! Rarely do I ever click the "more information" link and come up with an actual result. And even when I do, it's typically vague and unhelpful. Surely they have documented all of their Event ID's - why can't they just link to that documentation?
